Step-by-Step Guide to Join Shree Om University

Admission Policy

Introduction

This Admission Policy governs the admission of students to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Doctoral Programs offered by the University. The policy ensures transparency, fairness, merit-based selection, and compliance with UGC regulations and the Government of Uttarakhand guidelines.

Admission Announcement

  1. Admission notifications for all academic programs shall be published through:
    • University website
    • National and regional newspapers
    • Education portals
    • Social media platforms
    • Education fairs and counseling sessions.
  2. The admission schedule shall include:
    • Application start date
    • Last date for submission
    • Entrance test (if applicable)
    • Counseling and admission dates.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Eligibility requirements shall be determined for each program according to:
    • UGC norms
    • Professional council programs as per affiliations and regulations norms of PCI, NCISM, BCP, UGC, AICTE, NCTE.
    • University academic regulations.
  2. Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination from a recognized board/university.
  3. Minimum percentage requirements shall be specified for each program.
  4. Equivalence of qualifications shall be determined by the University.

Admission Criteria

Admissions may be granted based on one or more of the following criteria:

4.1 Merit-Based Admission

Admission based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2 / Graduation).

4.2 Entrance Examination

Admissions may also be based on:

  • University Entrance Test
  • National Level Tests such as:
    • JEE
    • NEET
    • CAT / MAT / XAT
    • CLAT
    • GATE

4.3 Personal Interview / Counseling

For certain programs (MBA, PhD, Design, etc.) admissions may include:

  • Personal Interview
  • Group Discussion.

4.4 Direct Admission

Direct admission may be granted for programs where:

  • Seats remain vacant
  • Candidates meet the eligibility criteria.

The University shall follow reservation guidelines as per Uttarakhand State Government policies. Typical reservation structure: ​

Candidates must follow the following steps:

Step 1 – Online Registration

Register on the University Admission Portal.

Step 2 – Application Form

Fill the online/offline application form with correct personal and academic details.

Step 3 – Document Upload

Upload scanned copies of required documents.

Step 4 – Application Fee

Pay the prescribed application fee through online payment or bank draft.

Step 5 – Admission Confirmation

Selected candidates must confirm admission by paying the prescribed admission fee.

Documents Required

Candidates must submit the following documents:

  1. 10th Mark Sheet and Certificate
  2. 12th Mark Sheet and Certificate
  3. Graduation Mark Sheet (for PG programs)
  4. Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate
  5. Character Certificate
  6. Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  7. Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
  8. Entrance Test Scorecard (if applicable)
  9. Aadhaar Card / Passport
  10. Passport-size photographs
  11. Medical Fitness Certificate

Provisional Admission

  1. Admission may be granted provisionally if the result of the qualifying examination is awaited.
  2. The candidate has not submitted the document in time.
  3. The candidate has not deposited the minimum fee required at the time of admission

Admission Cancellation

Admission may be cancelled if:

  • Documents are found to be false or forged
  • Eligibility criteria are not fulfilled
  • Student violates university rules.

       Fees refund will be governed by UGC refund guidelines.

Admission for International Students

Foreign / NRI / PIO students must submit:
• Passport
• Visa
• Eligibility certificate from AIU
• Proof of financial support

Anti-Ragging Compliance

Students must submit Anti-Ragging Affidavits signed by both student and parents as per UGC regulations.

Final Authority

The University Admission Committee / Academic Council shall have the final authority regarding:
• Admission decisions
• Interpretation of rules
• Dispute resolution
